1. Choose the Clamshell Material
The OD series features a main body ring and rotating gear ring. The gear ring is heat-treated alloy steel, while the main body ring can be aluminum or steel. AOD model (Aluminum) is recommended for on-site machining without lifting equipment. OD model (Steel) offers higher strength and longer service life for heavy-duty applications.
2. Choose the Drive Type
ODM (Electric): Suitable for most applications with 220V-50Hz power. ODP (Pneumatic): For explosion-proof sites. ODH (Hydraulic): Recommended for OD830 and above models for greater power.
3. Confirm Pipe Wall Thickness
Standard tool slide for ≤30 mm wall thickness. Heavy wall tool slide for >30 mm wall thickness.
4. Confirm Bevel Angle and Type
Required for selecting appropriate toolbits (V-type, J-type, or compound bevels).
